The 2026 Toyota Hilux is available in three variants, with prices ranging from Rs 31.99 lakh to Rs 36.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level GX 4x2 AT is priced at Rs 31.99 lakh, while the GX 4x4 AT sits in the middle of the range at Rs 33.69 lakh. The range-topping VX 4x4 AT is priced at Rs 36.69 lakh. The new Hilux continues to rival the Isuzu V-Cross in the lifestyle pickup segment.

Compared to the outgoing Hilux, which was priced between Rs 28.52 lakh and Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom), the entry price has increased by Rs 3.47 lakh, while the range-topping variant costs Rs 69,000 more. Despite being an all-new generation, Toyota has kept the increase at the top end relatively modest.

2026 Toyota Hilux exterior design

2026 Toyota Hilux launched at Rs 31.99 lakh

The new Hilux adopts a more upright front-end design with slim LED headlamps, a honeycomb-pattern grille and prominent 'TOYOTA' lettering replacing the conventional badge. On the front bumper are two quadrangle-shaped black air intakes on either side. Its lower section looks aggressive with strong creases, wide air intakes, a silver skid plate and two LED fog lamps. In profile, the pickup gets black wheel arch cladding, roll bars, new 17-inch alloy wheels and a footboard for easier ingress and egress. The Hilux also gets electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs and a shark-fin antenna.

At the rear, the pickup gets vertically stacked LED tail-lamps  with C-shaped DRL signatures, 'TOYOTA' lettering across the tailgate and a redesigned bumper with an integrated step for easier access to the cargo bed.

The 2026 Toyota Hilux is offered in 6 colors, Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.

2026 Toyota Hilux interior and features

Inside, the Hilux gets an all-new dashboard with a 7-inch instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, along with a new three-spoke steering wheel bearing the Toyota lettermark.

Feature highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, cruise control, connected car technology, powered and ventilated front seats, rear armrest with cupholders, a PM 2.5 air filter, 8-speaker audio system and a 360-degree camera. The Hilux also offers three drive modes - Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The cabin combines soft-touch leatherette surfaces with hard plastics. A welcome sight in the Hilux’s cabin is the abundance of physical controls for key functions. However, compared to the global-spec Hilux, the India-spec model misses out on features such as ADAS, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and dual-zone automatic climate control, instead getting a smaller 7-inch instrument display and a manual air-conditioning system.

Safety equipment includes seven airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), ABS with brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.

2026 Toyota Hilux engine and gearbox

Powering the Hilux is the familiar 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 204hp and 500Nm, paired exclusively with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. The manual transmission has been discontinued, while Toyota has expanded the lineup with a new rear-wheel-drive (4x2) variant alongside the four-wheel-drive (4x4) versions. Unlike the Fortuner, however, the Hilux does not get Toyota's 48V 'Neo Drive' mild-hybrid system.

The 4x4 variants come with a low-range transfer case and electronic differential lock, and also get multiple terrain modes, downhill assist control, traction control and an auto limited slip differential to improve off-road capability.
