Tata Altroz XE+ launched at Rs 6.35 lakh

The new XE+ trim replaces the XM trim, while Tata has hiked Altroz prices by up to Rs 8,500.

Tata Motors has introduced a new, entry-level XE+ trim to the Altroz hatchback’s line-up, priced at Rs 6.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new trim level replaces the XM trim and is positioned one above the base XE trim.

Tata Altroz XE+: what’s new?

The new XE+ trim is available with the naturally aspirated petrol (Rs 6.35 lakh) and the turbo-diesel engines (Rs 7.55 lakh). It is priced Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000 more than the XE petrol and diesel, respectively. For the extra money, the XE+ gets features such as a 3.5-inch Harman infotainment system with four speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, FM and AM radio, a USB port, a fast USB charger, remote keyless entry, ORVMs that are manually adjustable and electrically foldable, electric temperature control, and follow me home and find me headlamp functions over the base XE trim.

Compared to the outgoing XM trim, the XE+ loses out on a rear parcel shelf, wheel caps for the steel rims and electric adjustment for the ORVMs.

Tata Altroz prices hiked

Tata has also taken this opportunity to revise the prices of the Altroz. Apart from the base XE petrol, which sees a price reduction of Rs 10,000, prices for all other variants of the Altroz have been hiked in the range of Rs 400 to Rs 8,500. This represents the second price hike for the Altroz this year, with the last one coming in August.

Tata Altroz: engine and gearbox details

The Tata Altroz is available with an 86hp, 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 90hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. All three engines come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. There is no automatic gearbox option on the Altroz, at least for now.
