TVS XL 100

The TVS XL 100 is a utility moped designed for heavy-duty use, budget-conscious buyers, and cargo-carrying needs. It is well-known for its light-weight (88-89kg), sturdy frame, and a wide rear seat that can be removed for carrying cargo, making it well suited for both urban and rural transport. 

The TVS XL 100 was first launched in 2015 in Uttar Pradesh, after which a wider rollout was carried out in Tamil Nadu in 2016. While the XL brand has existed since 1980 (starting with 50cc models), this modern 4-stroke moped has received several upgrades over the years, focused mainly on emissions and convenience. The most comprehensive update that TVS XL 100 received came in 2020, when the engine was updated to meet BS-VI norms, replacing the carburetor with ETFi technology. 

Currently, the TVS XL 100 is available in 5 variants (Heavy Duty, Win Edition, Heavy Duty i-Touchstart, Comfort i-Touchstart, and HD Alloy), and based on the variant selected, its price varies. The TVS XL 100 price starts at ₹45.35 thousand and goes up to ₹61.36 thousand (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the TVS XL 100 on road price in major India cities like Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Mumbai, etc., generally falls between ₹52,611 and ₹75,133, depending on RTO, insurance, and various other charges.

TVS XL 100 moped is the only petrol-powered moped currently on sale in India, that features a 99.7cc engine and offers a twist-and-go automatic transmission with a centrifugal clutch. The engine of this moped produces 4.3bhp of power and 6.5Nm of torque. Despite its utility-focused nature, the XL 100 delivers respectable fuel efficiency. As per ARAI, the TVS XL 100 mileage is 67kpl. And, while this moped is designed for cargo-carrying needs, it can reach a top speed of 58kph and is equipped with a 4-liter fuel tank.
