The Yamaha XTZ 125 is a dual-sport bike, which means that it can be used on-road as well as off the road. This bike is on sale in markets like the Philippines and Ecuador. Now, the bike has recently been caught testing on Indian roads in a black colour scheme with some silver accents and red livery. It is also offered in blue and a white colour scheme in international markets.

Internationally, the Yamaha XTZ 125 is equipped with a 124cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC engine that produces 12.5hp at 8,000rpm and 11.6Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and the fuel tank has a capacity of 11 litres.

Coming to dimensions, the bike has an overall length of 2,090mm, overall width of 830mm, a saddle height of 840mm, and a ground clearance of 260mm. The bike weighs 118kg with a full tank of fuel and all oils in the system. It sits on 21-inch wheels in the front and 18-inch wheels at the rear. But the bike seen in the images is riding on some chunky tyres (possibly all-terrain tyres).

Yamaha has made no official statement regarding the launch of the XTZ 125 in India. If the company does intend to bring it here, it will certainly face not only pricing challenges but also the issue of a tall seat height on a small- capacity motorcycle. With that in mind, the bike in the photograph may just be being used for testing purposes and we’ve seen this before with bikes (like the Nozza Grande) and Honda Scoopy which were caught testing but haven’t gone on sale yet.
