Yamaha India has announced a new 10-year ‘Total Warranty’ programme for all its made-in-India motorcycles and scooters. This initiative is to celebrate 40 years of the brand’s operations in the country.

    1. Total Warranty isn’t for CKD, CBU models
    2. It is a limited-time offer

Yamaha's Total Warranty: What is it?

This warranty is fully transferable to the next owner

This new warranty coverage, which includes a 2-year standard warranty and an 8-year extended warranty, is being offered free of cost for a limited period. This extended warranty does not apply to Yamaha models sold via CKD (completely knocked down) or CBU (completely built up) routes. Only products manufactured locally are eligible; these include popular scooters like the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, Ray ZR and Aerox 155, as well as motorcycle ranges such as the FZ, R15 and MT-15.

As per Yamaha, the extended warranty covers the engine and electrical components, including the fuel injection system. While scooters will be covered for up to 1,00,000km, motorcycles will be covered for up to 1,25,000km.

For now, this Total Warranty programme will be bundled as standard on all new Yamaha 2-wheelers produced in India. However, Yamaha hasn’t specified how long this introductory offer will last. Once the initial free period ends, customers can still opt for the extended warranty by paying Rs 1,799 for scooters and Rs 2,499 for motorcycles. Additionally, this warranty is fully transferable to subsequent owners, aiming to improve resale value and give buyers added peace of mind.
