Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid price is Rs 1.45 lakh, colours, mileage

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid has been launched at Rs 1.45 lakh. It now boasts an OBD2B-compliant engine, a Starter Motor Generator (SMG) and mild-hybrid tech similar to Yamaha scooters. Additionally, it gets a 4.2-inch TFT display with smartphone integration.

  1. Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid has a starter motor generator (SMG)
  2. SMG provides silent start and aids start/stop system, enhancing fuel efficiency
  3. This bike costs Rs 10,000 more than the standard model

The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, and it has a mild-hybrid tech, which uses an SMG similar to those found in some Yamaha and TVS scooters. This motor aids in a silent start while also providing a start/stop system by immediately cutting off the engine in traffic and restarting with a quick clutch action. The hybrid function comes in via a small battery-assisted acceleration boost available for short durations, which, in turn, aids fuel efficiency.

Powering this motorcycle is the same single-cylinder, air-cooled, 149cc engine producing 12.4hp and 13.3Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This mill is shared with the standard model but now complies with stricter OBD2B norms. At 138kg, the FZ-S Hybrid is 1-2 kilos heavier than the regular FZ-S V4 bikes.

Differentiating it further from the standard model is a new 4.2-inch colour TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration, which offers a slew of added functionality. It has turn-by-turn navigation linked to Google Maps, offering real-time directions, music control, geo-fencing and last-parked location, among other features.

As for the smaller changes, Yamaha has optimised the handlebar position, repositioned the horn switch, and adjusted the switchgear for better accessibility while wearing gloves. Another change is the addition of two new colours: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.

At Rs 1.45 lakh, the Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid commands a Rs 10,000 premium over the standard FZ-S Fi, which continues to be listed on the Yamaha website.
