The BMW G 310 RR is currently the only motorcycle still on sale from the BMW-TVS joint venture of the Bavarian brand, and BMW Motorrad India has now teased the launch of its updated version through a social media post. Since the G 310 RR is based on the TVS Apache RR 310, the updated model could carry over many of the recent improvements introduced on the TVS.

  1. Likely to get engine updates from the updated Apache RR 310
  2. Might feature launch control and cornering drag torque control

Updated BMW G 310 RR expected changes

Power increase and mechanical improvements likely

The TVS Apache RR 310 has undergone two rounds of updates over the last year. In late 2024, it received a larger airbox, a higher compression ratio, a lighter forged piston and a bigger throttle body. These changes boosted output to 38hp at 9,800rpm and 29Nm at 7,900rpm – up from 34hp and 27.3Nm. TVS also introduced a bi-directional quickshifter and cruise control with this update.

In April 2025, while bringing the Apache up to OBD2B compliance, TVS added further features like launch control and cornering drag torque control. The outgoing BMW G 310 RR still uses the older version of this platform, so it could receive all of these changes with the upcoming update.

The bike may also get aerodynamic winglets on the fairings, claimed to generate up to 3kg of downforce, along with a transparent clutch cover. New 8-spoke alloy wheels – introduced on the Apache during its OBD2B update and borrowed from the RTR 310 – could also make their way to the BMW.

Updated BMW G 310 RR expected pricing and positioning

Competitive pricing expected with new GST structure

The BMW G 310 RR is currently priced at Rs 3.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the updates are expected to result in a price increase, the new GST structure may work in its favour. BMW has historically maintained approximately a Rs 20,000 premium over the equivalent TVS Apache RR 310 (currently priced at Rs 2.95 lakh for the top-spec trim), and we could see a similar difference once the updated model is launched.
