The new Royal Enfield 750cc bikes seem to be just around the corner, with fresh spy shots showing a near-production-ready looking Himalayan 750 out on test in Chennai.

  1. Himalayan 750 to be available with spoked wheels and alloys
  2. Has high-mount exhaust
  3. Likely to produce 55-60hp

Royal Enfield Himalayan 750: What’s new?

The latest spy shots reveal some small new details

The new RE Himalayan 750 has been spied testing quite a few times now, but this latest appearance shows the bike in what looks to be a production-ready state, with the mandatory saree guard installed.

Another new observation is that the rear shock appears to have a remote gas reservoir mounted to the left-side pillion foot peg hanger. Whether there is any suspension adjustability beyond preload at the rear is presently unknown, but we do know that this bike will use the same circular TFT display seen on multiple other new RE bikes.

Also on this bike is the same round LED headlamp that now finds itself on nearly every motorcycle the company makes, apart from the Bullet 350. Thankfully, the Himalayan 750 will have a fresh and unique design, with a new faired area around the fuel tank that will instantly set it apart from the smaller Himalayan 450. Another big visual difference is that it will have a high-mount exhaust, which adds to the big-ADV look.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 new engine details

It will be the most powerful motorcycle made in India

The new RE 750cc engine will be based on the existing 650, and it is likely to continue with the same air-/oil-cooled architecture. That said, peak power is likely to climb from the current 48hp to around 55-60hp, which will make this the most powerful motorcycle engine to be made in India.

It will be interesting to see how RE structures its twin-cylinder line-up in the future and whether the 750 will coexist alongside the 650 or eventually replace it altogether. While it might be some time before we find out, we do expect to see more of the 750cc engine very soon. RE may showcase it at EICMA this year in early November, and we may even get to try this engine out soon after that. We’ll bring you all the updates as soon as we have them.
