Green SM, a Vietnamese ride-hailing company, will launch its services in India on June 5, 2026. The company is backed by Vingroup, which also owns Vinfast. Taking on the likes of Uber and Ola, the taxi service will first commence operations in the Delhi-NCR region before expanding to other Indian cities.

  2. VF MPV 7-based Limo Green MPV to be part of fleet line-up

With the arrival of Green SM in India, Vinfast will join the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota and Hyundai, which also offer fleet-based models.

Green SM India: Additional details

Vingroup’s Green SM taxi service to launch in India on June 5

Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) was established in 2023 by Vinfast founder Pham Nhat Vuong. The company currently offers ride-hailing services in Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines with a dedicated app for ride bookings. Unlike Ola and Uber, which utilise cars from multiple brands, GSM will use only Vinfast cars for its services. The first will be the Limo Green, which is essentially a fleet version of the VF MPV 7. While the Limo Green will use the VF MPV 7’s 60.13kWh battery pack, it will have a separate ARAI certification for fleet use, confirmed Tapan Kumar Ghosh, Vinfast India CEO, in an interview with Autocar India. For reference, the VF MPV 7 gets an ARAI-rated range of 517km, and its front-mounted motor develops 204hp and 280Nm.

Ghosh also told us that the Limo Green will have different badges and logos than the VF MPV 7, as well as fewer features. The fleet-oriented MPV was recently spied on our roads with a Cyan paint job, Green SM branding and steel wheels with covers. It is expected to have a 7-seat layout and an all-black cabin, as opposed to the brown-and-black theme of the VF MPV 7. Apart from the Limo Green, the VF5 electric hatchback, which is also being considered for an India launch, is expected to be a part of its fleet line-up.
