Mechanically similar to the standard variant

The Kawasaki Z650 S is a new variant of the Z650. It follows the new Sugomi design and features a new headlight and tail-light, similar to the unit on the Z900. The Z650 S also gets a new 4.3-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Apart from these changes, the motorcycle retains the 649cc parallel-twin engine, which makes 68.25hp and 64Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It is offered in a single colour option of White/Green. Kawasaki also offers a quickshifter as an accessory.

Other cycle parts remain unchanged as well, including the RSU fork and backlink monoshock units. But the brake rotors are smaller now: the front dual discs are 272mm units instead of 300mm, while the rear disc has gone down from 220mm to 186mm. All the changes have also added 5kg to the S variant (193kg) compared to the standard variant (188kg). Priced at a premium of Rs 33,000 over the standard Z650 (Rs 7.26 lakh), the newly redesigned Z650 S features a more refined and sharper aesthetic.

All prices are ex-showroom, India.
