The 125cc Honda Shine

The Honda Shine has crossed the 1 crore customers sales milestone in India. Launched in 2006, the Honda Shine is the first 125cc motorcycle to cross this mark.

The Shine holds the top position with more than 50 percent market share. The motorcycle also clocked 29 percent year-on-year growth (YTD data as per SIAM).

Speaking on this momentous occasion, Atsushi Ogata, managing director, president and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, said, “As India rides into 2022 with the amazing Shine, we remain committed to taking on new challenges and delighting our loyal customers with best products.”

Ever since Honda launched the 125cc Shine in India, it has garnered immense success. In 2008, the Shine became the bestselling motorcycle in the 125cc segment, within two years of being launched. In 2020, the motorcycle crossed the 90-lakh customer mark.

While the Honda Shine has been a runaway success, it now faces stiff competition from the Hero Glamour 125 Xtec and newly launched TVS Raider 125.
