Honda has confirmed that it will resurrect the Hawk nameplate at the 2022 Osaka Motorcycle Show, which will take place between March 19-21. The new motorcycle will be called the Hawk 11 and is expected to be a neo retro style unit. It will also be the fourth model to use the 1,100cc twin-cylinder platform that made its debut on the Honda Africa Twin, followed by the CMX1100 Rebel and the NT1100.

Honda recently discontinued the CB1100 and so it makes sense for the company to add a neo retro offering like the Hawk to fill the gap in its line-up. With the Hawk 11, Honda will drop its hat in the modern classic ring and take on the likes of Kawasaki, Triumph and Yamaha in this segment.

A teaser released by the brand shows a neo retro cafe racer style motorcycle with a curved front fairing and a round headlight, akin to the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR. We will know what the rest of the motorcycle looks like in a few weeks.

We expect the 1,084cc parallel-twin to produce around 100hp and 104Nm, just like all the other motorcycles based on this engine platform.

Honda already offers the Africa Twin in India and has also filed a patent for the NT1100. The Hawk 11 would also fit in well in our market, considering Kawasaki and Triumph also have similar offerings that customers seem to like.

What do you think of the Hawk 11? Let us know in the comments below.
