Honda has patented the design of its Click 125 scooter in India. The Click 125 is a sporty offering that is already on sale in certain international markets. However, the patent filing is not an indicator of an India launch. The brand has previously patented other models here, like the Honda NS125 LA, but didn’t launch them locally.
- Honda Click 125 is currently sold in the Philippines and Thailand
- Patent filing likely to protect intellectual property
Honda Click 125 details
The Click 125 is currently on sale in international markets like the Philippines
The Click 125 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces peak output figures of 11.2hp and 11Nm. This puts it in the same performance ballpark as scooters like the Hero Xoom 125. However, the Click 125 will have an edge with its liquid-cooled setup versus nearly every other 125cc scooter offering in our market that uses an air-cooled architecture.
Other key highlights on the Click 125 include 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends, a smart key system with keyless start and anti-theft functionality, full LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and 18 litres of underseat storage. The scooter has a 5.5-litre fuel tank, a kerb weight of 111kg, and offers 131mm of ground clearance. Ground clearance is listed at 131-135mm in international markets.
In the Philippines, the Click 125 is priced at PHP 82,400, which translates to around Rs 1.28 lakh. As with previous patents, this appears to be more about safeguarding design rights, and there is no indication that the Click 125 will be introduced here anytime soon.
