While the new GST rates bode well for most of the auto sector, particularly smaller bikes and cars, prospective customers of big bikes are the ones most adversely affected. Honda recently went on a flurry of launches comprising large-capacity, multi-cylinder machines, and it has one of the most well-rounded big bike portfolios in India now. All ten of its products have seen a price rise, and here’s how they are positioned now.

  1. Rebel 500 sees the smallest price hike – Rs 37,000
  2. Recently launched Fireblade SP sees Rs 2.19 lakh price increase
  3. Gold Wing sees the largest price increase

Honda big bike and scooter prices see significant changes

Big Red has a portfolio of ten large-capacity models in India

Among Honda’s multi-cylindered machines, the Rebel 500 is the most attainable, and this engine is also found in the NX500 ADV tourer. Moving on to the other twin-cylinder platform in the line-up, we have the CB750 Hornet, followed by the popular CB650R and CBR650R four-cylinder offerings.

The XL750 Transalp midsize adventure bike and X-ADV adventure-styled maxi-scooter are powered by twin-cylinder engines, although the motors themselves are starkly different. Then we have the most VFM 1000cc four-cylinder bike in India, the CB1000 Hornet SP.

In total, there are 9 bikes and one scooter, all of which have seen notable price increases, the exact quantum of which is detailed in the table below.
