The build up to the launch of the upcoming Hero Karizma XMR 210 has been peppered with spy shots, and even the production-spec motorcycle being exclusively previewed to dealers. Now, a recent design patent has given us another glimpse of what the Karizma will look like once launched.

While the photo that emerged from the dealer preview predominantly showed the profile of the motorcycle, this design patent gives us a look at the rear. This slightly top-ish angle brings out the layers of the side fairing, and it is a rather intricate and neat looking design. It also shows the raised clip-on handlebars that attach to the top of the conventional front fork. This choice is interesting, since Hero’s more affordable Xtreme 160R comes with a more premium golden upside-down front fork.

The frame uses a tubular construction and appears to be a single-piece design, with no separation between the main frame and rear sub-frame. Continuing on the chassis front, the Karizma will use a simple box-section swingarm, and the front brake appears to be a petal disc.

Other noteworthy details are a large and wide fuel tank, and a rather small pillion seat. It appears that the mirrors will be mounted on the front fairing, rather than the handlebars. At the heart of the new Karizma will sit Hero’s first ever liquid-cooled engine, displacing roughly 210cc.

Considering how the motorcycle appears production-ready and has already been shown to dealers, an official launch shouldn’t be far off. This design patent only further reinforces this, and we expect an official price announcement by September this year. Once launched, expect it to be priced in the ballpark of the Bajaj Pulsar F250, which currently sells for Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
