The Ducati XDiavel V4 has been revealed and this bike is the more relaxed, cruiser-y version of the Diavel V4. Unlike the previous XDiavel 1260, the XDiavel V4 uses a chain final drive and is 6kg heavier than the standard Diavel V4. In this V4 generation, both the Diavel models are closely related under their stylish and distinct skins.

  1. Ducati XDiavel V4’s engine produces 168hp and 126Nm
  2. Distinct styling compared to Diavel V4
  3. 6 kilos heavier, 20mm lower seat height than Diavel

The XDiavel V4 shares its mechanical fundamentals with the Diavel V4. Its 1,158cc V4 engine makes the same 168hp and 126Nm, matching the Diavel V4. Unlike the previous V-Twin XDiavel, the new V4’s engine is in the same state of tune as the Diavel V4. Previously, the XDiavel utilised a belt final drive but the latest V4 model uses a chain final drive like the Diavel. The aluminium monocoque frame as well as braking and suspension hardware are also carried over unchanged from the Diavel.

Where Ducati has differentiated the XDiavel from the standard Diavel is in its styling and rider triangle. The XDiavel builds upon the Diavel’s low-slung, mean silhouette but stylises everything that little bit extra. The machined alloy wheels have a different design and the bike has a more fluid design than the Diavel.

Ducati also claims that it has worked on improving pillion comfort on the XDiavel V4 and that the passenger’s perch is wider and longer in addition to having more padding. While not pictured here, Ducati will provide the pillion grab handle, which mounts to the tail unit, for free with the purchase of the bike.

Since the XDiavel V4 is Ducati’s interpretation of a cruiser, it has forward-set footpegs and a swept-back handlebar for a more relaxed rider’s triangle. The company will also sell you mid-mounted footpegs as an accessory, among a myriad of other items such as performance parts, cosmetic items and luggage-carrying accessories. With a 770mm seat height, the XDiavel V4’s perch is 20mm lower than the standard Diavel and at 229kg (without fuel), the bike is 6 kilos heavier than the base Diavel.

The electronics suite on the XDiavel V4 is also shared with the Diavel, with one crucial difference. The XDiavel uses the same 6.9-inch TFT display as the latest Panigale and Streetfighter V4 models. Just like the Diavel, the XDiavel V4 is also available in two colours – red and black.

The closest rival to the Ducati XDiavel V4 is the bonkers Triumph Rocket 3 Storm. Currently, the standard Diavel V4 costs Rs 26.21 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and we expect the XDiavel V4 to be priced higher than that when it comes here
