Ducati Multistrada V2, India launch, engine, features

Ducati has revealed the all-new Multistrada V2 and V2 S for 2025. For next year, the smaller Multistrada uses the new 890cc V-twin engine as the Streetfighter and Panigale V2, although it is in a very different state of tune, to suit its intended purpose.

  1. Lighter by 18kgs, 199kg (base) and 202kg (S)
  2. 890cc engine makes 115hp, 92Nm of torque
  3. S variant gets electronic suspension, additional green colour

2025 Ducati Multistrada V2: It really is all new

For 2025, the Ducati Multistrada V2 has gone on a proper diet. It is lighter by 18kgs compared to the outgoing 937cc model. It comes with a 19 litre fuel tank, 1 litre less than its predecessor which also contributes to some of its weight reduction.

Moving forward to the engine, it is the new 890cc, V-twin producing 115.6hp, up by 2.6hp while the torque output has actually gone down by 3.9Nm, now standing at 92.1Nm. Both variants of the Multistrada V2 have a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and bidirectional quickshifter.

Another talking point with the Multistrada V2 is that just like with the new gen Monster, Ducati has moved away from the trellis frame and now offers a monocoque front frame.

Suspending this new engine and frame package is a fully adjustable Marzocchi setup on both variants, although only the top S variant comes with electronically adjustable units. In terms of rubber, it comes wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 tyres sized 120/70-R19 (front) and 170/60-R19 (rear). Handling braking duties are twin Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers at the front with dual 320 mm front discs and 265 mm rear disc.

As is the norm nowadays, the Multistrada V2 comes with the latest suite of electronics consisting of traction control, riding modes, switchable dual-channel ABS, power modes and engine braking control, all of which are supplemented by a 6-axis IMU. All these electronics are controlled via a 5-inch TFT display.

Currently, the 937cc Multistrada V2 lineup is priced at Rs 16.36 lakh (base) and Rs 18.99 lakh (S). When the 890cc Multistrada V2 models get here sometime next year, we expect them to cost somewhere in the same ballpark, perhaps with a small increase.
