BS6 TVS XL 100 launched at Rs 43,889

TVS has launched the 2020 TVS XL 100 BS6 range with prices starting from Rs 43,889 for the Heavy Duty i-Touchstart variant. The updated XL100 is available in a total of three variants – the afore mentioned entry-level model, the Heavy Duty i-Touchstart Special Edition that’s priced at Rs 45,129 and the Comfort i-Touchstart, which costs Rs 45,459. These prices are about Rs 3,000 and Rs 3,500 more than those of their respective BS4 counterparts.

The TVS website has currently listed details for the Comfort i-Touchstart – it is powered by the same 99.7cc engine, only now it features fuel-injection. Peak output figures are 4.4hp at 6,000rpm and 6.5Nm at 3,500rpm and this is really impressive as these are the exact same numbers that the BS4-compliant XL100’s engine produced. TVS also says its fuel-injection technology allows the XL100 to deliver 15 percent higher mileage.

The updated engine has brought with it an increase in weight. The BS4 Comfort weighed 84kg (kerb), while the BS6 iteration weighs 85.5kg (dry).
