Ather extended warranty details

Ather has had scooters on the road since 2017 and the company has amassed sufficient data for it to be confident in the long term performance of its battery packs. That has led to this new optional 8 year/80,000km battery warranty that also covers battery degradation under 70 percent.

The company states that this new Eight70TM warranty is transferable if the customer sells the scooter and that it also covers battery deep discharge if the scooter is left idle for long periods of time. The warranty also promises free labour costs if a warranty claim is to be made.

This optional warranty will cost Rs 4,999 and it is only available to customers who have optioned the Pro Pack on their Ather scooter. The Pro pack unlocks a multiple of smart features on the scooter and it costs anywhere between Rs 13,000 and 20,000 based on the scooter in question.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited, said, “Battery durability is a crucial factor for EV buyers. We often hear about customers' apprehensions regarding the longevity and replacement costs of the batteries of their electric scooters. Understanding this concern, we have introduced our new Eight70TM Warranty, which provides 70% battery health assurance for up to 8 years. We believe that this warranty will eliminate any worries and concerns EV buyers may have regarding the long term health of their scooter batteries.”
