We recently reported that Ather was planning to launch a completely new family-oriented scooter early next year. However, the Bengaluru start-up will have one more launch based on its existing 450X platform before that.
The ten-year anniversary edition of the 450X scooter will get a unique design scheme, which hardly comes as a surprise. However, sources inform us that the scooter will also have a higher performance than the 450X.
No further details are currently available, but the 450X is already one of the quickest accelerating scooters in the country (from 0-40kph) and it has a top speed of 90kph. The Ather 450X Ten Year Anniversary Special Edition may see a small increase in acceleration as well as a push towards the 100kph mark, but this remains to be seen.
The scooter is expected to go on sale in the upcoming quarter and it will likely be sold in limited units. With the top Ather 450X already retailing at Rs 1.65 lakh ex-showroom, expect this special edition to be priced above the Rs 1.7 lakh mark.
