Triumph Motorcycles has taken the wraps off the 2021 Bonneville T100 that has received small, yet significant updates. Chief among these updates include a Euro5 (BS6) compliant engine, new suspension and wheels.

  • Euro5 (BS6) engine makes more power and torque, at 65hp and 80Nm

  • Lighter than the previous T100 by 4kg

  • Gets new instrument dial face

2021 Triumph Bonneville T100: engine

The Bonneville T100’s new Euro5 (BS6) compliant engine is lighter, more powerful and responsive, says Triumph. The 900cc twin-cylinder engine makes 10hp more than its predecessor and that translates to 65hp at 7,400rpm. Peak torque is 80Nm at 3,750rpm only, but more importantly, 80 percent of it is available from 2,000rpm, and all the way up to 7,000rpm. Triumph has also managed to make the engine lighter by employing low-inertia crankshaft, lighter balancer shafts, a thin-walled clutch cover and a magnesium cam cover. This has had a significant bearing on the weight of the T100 and Triumph claims to have shaved 4kg off the previous motorcycle. The cherry on top has to be the 16,000km service interval, which should help reduce the cost of maintenance.

2021 Triumph Bonneville T100: chassis, design and equipment

The lower weight is said to have improved the T100’s handling, also aided by the new cartridge front forks, while the Brembo two-piston front brake is said to offer better bite and feel. As before, the bike runs on spoked rims, with tube-type tyres.

In terms of design, the body panels are unchanged and the T100 continues to look like an authentic British classic. Whether it is the shape of the fuel tank, the white piping on the seat or the bits of chrome, the 2021 Bonneville T100 has a charm of its own.

Another update comes in the form of a brand-new instrument dial face. The menu on the digi-analogue instrument cluster can be accessed via a scroll button on the handlebar.

2021 Triumph Bonneville T100: price, colours and availability

The Triumph Bonneville T100 is expected to go on sale in the month of April, with a minor price hike. The new 2021 Bonneville T100 is available in three classic colours – a blue and white scheme with hand-painted silver coach lines; single-tone jet black scheme; and a red and white scheme with hand-painted silver coach lines.
