TVS has updated the Apache RTR 160 with a single-channel ABS system, which is similar to that on the recently updated Apache RTR 160 4V. The update can be found on both variants of the 160 (single-disc and dual-disc) and comes at a hike of around Rs 6,250.

For those who are unaware, TVS has two very different RTR 160s on sale in India. One is the much newer model with the four-valve motor and one older one with a more basic two-valve motor. These two models have sub variants as well and with the mandatory ABS norm coming into effect on April 1, 2019, the company has had to update all of them with the safety tech.

In terms of pricing, the single-disc RTR 160 ABS has been priced at Rs 85,479, while the dual-disc RTR 160 ABS has been priced at Rs 88,114. This is an increase of around Rs 6,250 over the non-ABS models which were priced at Rs 79,479 (single disc) and Rs 81,614 (dual disc) (all prices, ex-showroom, Chennai).

The RTR 160 is powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, two-valve air-cooled engine that makes 15.1hp at 8,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This motor comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
