Suzuki has opened bookings for the new Hayabusa at Rs 1 lakh. Dealers across the country have opened bookings for the new model and are expecting some serious sales.

The 2019 motorcycle will be available in two new colour schemes – black, and a grey-red dual-tone. Like the 2018 model, the 2019 bike features the aerodynamic design, drive-mode selector and radially-mounted Brembo Monobloc disc brakes. The power and torque figures for its 1,340cc in-line-four engine remain unchanged at 199.7hp and 155Nm.

Hayabusas have always been popular in India thanks to their outrageous straight-line performance and ease of maintenance while remaining affordable. The new bike is priced at Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which makes it significantly more affordable than its rival – the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R which is priced at Rs 19.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The bike makes its way to India via the CKD (Completely Knock Down) route and is assembled at SIMPL’s factory in Gurgaon. Dealers say that delivery of the bikes will begin on January 20, 2019.

Suzuki ended the Hayabusa's 20-year-long run and discontinued the Hayabusa GSX1300R in Europe and Japan due to strict emission regulations. However, the 2019 model will continue to be sold in India until further notice.
