The Rizta is Ather’s first family oriented scooter based largely on the 450 platform. It was designed keeping practicality and daily use in mind, offering high storage capacity and spacious seating. It features a long 900mm seat, largest among scooters in India and offers an underseat storage of 34 litres. The storage capacity can be further increased by 22 litres with an optional accessory that attaches to the front apron.
The Rizta’s round and minimal design separates it from Ather’s sporty 450 range of scooters. It is currently available in two variants and two battery configurations. The S variant is the base with two battery packs, 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh and the Z being the top variant gets a few additional features such as a TFT dash among others but battery packs remain identical.
In terms of performance and output, both the battery packs are identical, good enough to propel the Rizta to a top-speed of 80kph. The Z variant excels in tech and comfort, as mentioned, it is equipped with a TFT dash over the LCD in the S, additional features like magic twist, skid control, backrest for pillion and dual tone color options add up to the premium price tag.
Both variants get a 5-way joystick but with a recent update, the Z variant’s TFT got touch functionality, making the joystick redundant on it, but still it remains useful to navigate through the LCD screen on the lower variant. On the right is one touch reverse which helps in easy parking. The 350W charger offered by Ather takes a standard charging time of approx 5 hours to charge the scooter from 0 to 80 percent.
