The 450X gets a 2.9kWh battery (installed capacity) and a 6kW motor. 0-40kmph comes up in 3.29s while 0-60kph takes 6.5s. Top speed is capped at 80kph.

The riding position is comfortable, while the floorboard has generous space for big feet.

Priced at Rs 99,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This is, however, its base price; and owners will have to pay an additional Rs 1,699 (Plus) or Rs 1,999 (Pro) as a subscription service each month.

The 450X is planted around corners

The 450X looks like a futuristic scooter; build quality is pretty good too.

The Ather 450X looks identical to the 450, however, one can opt for the X in either this matte grey shade, mint green or white.

The new touchscreen instrument panel runs on Android Open Source with 4G connectivity. Bluetooth allows one to pair mobile phones, answer calls or listen to music via the Ather app.

Boot capacity is one of the largest we've seen in a scooter.

The front apron features a neatly integrated headlamp.

12-inch wheels at the front and rear are shod with grippy MRF tyres. 100/80-1(Front), 110/80-12 (Rear) are available as an option.
