This is the first major facelift for the EcoSport since it was unveiled in 2012.
Customer feedback has helped the EcoSport retain the tailgate mounted spare.
The bonnet has a nice ‘power bulge’ in the centre, along with larger headlamps with projector elements and a new LED daytime running lamp signature.
New front seats wider and softer to suit larger frames; leather on top-spec cars.
Back seat still high-set with a long squab.
You now get Isofix child seat mounts on the top-spec variant.
Dials clear but look a bit too ordinary.
Some hard plastics and gaps remain.
Ambient lighting with 7 colours.
Unfortunately, no rear AC vent.
Heavily redesigned dashboard transforms the interior, most new bits are quality too.
New Sync 3 touchscreen is best around; smartphone-slick with brilliant graphics.
New 1.5-litre, 3 cyl ‘Dragon’ petrol motor is incredibly refined and has plenty of grunt low down.
Flip-up seat squabs let you free up a bit more storage space in the boot.
New 17in alloys give it a great stance.
Tailgate still opens on the ‘wrong’ side.
