Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) has gradually made its way from premium motorcycles to the scooter segment, offering riders more safety and confidence. For the millions of scooter riders navigating the often unpredictable roads in our country, ABS can be a crucial safety net.
There were reports that the government is expected to make ABS mandatory on all new two-wheelers regardless of engine capacity. If that happens, this list would change drastically. But for now, ABS is mostly seen on higher-end scooters, though one mass-market offering on this list breaks that trend.
6. Yamaha Aerox 155
Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.41 lakh.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 was one of the earlier launches in this segment and quickly caught the attention of enthusiasts, not just for its unconventional styling compared to most scooters in India but also for its engine, which is heavily derived from the R15’s unit. It produces 14.75hp and 13.9Nm and features Yamaha’s variable valve actuation (VVA) technology that helps bring good rideability across a wide rpm range. The Aerox 155 comes equipped with single-channel ABS as standard and also offers premium features such as keyless ignition, traction control and smartphone connectivity for call and message alerts.
5. Hero Xoom 160
Hero Xoom 160 is priced at Rs 1.37 lakh.
First showcased at Auto Expo 2025, the Hero Xoom 160 marked the company’s entry into the maxi-scooter space. Like most scooters in this segment, it features a rear drum brake and single-channel ABS. Power comes from a new 156cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.6hp and 14Nm. In our first ride review, we found that the motor builds speed steadily, even beyond 80kph.

4. VLF Mobster 135
VLF Mobster is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh.
The VLF Mobster 135 stands out as the only 125cc scooter in India to get dual-channel ABS. The Italian-origin scooter is powered by a 125cc liquid-cooled engine producing 12.1hp and 11.7Nm. Braking hardware comprises a 230mm front disc and 220mm rear disc, paired with switchable dual-channel ABS. The scooter also gets switchable traction control – a feature rarely seen on scooters. It also gets a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignition and illuminated switchgear.
3. Aprilia SR 175
Prices for the Aprilia SR 175 start at Rs 1.18 lakh.
The Aprilia SR 175 has the largest engine displacement among the regular contenders on this list, with its 174.7cc motor producing 12.9hp and 14.1Nm. It replaced the SR 160 in Aprilia’s India line-up and introduced updates such as a TFT display and a refreshed design, while the rest of the scooter remains largely unchanged. It comes with single-channel ABS.
2. TVS Ntorq 150
Prices for the TVS Ntorq 150 start at Rs 1.09 lakh.
The TVS Ntorq 150 was earlier the most affordable scooter with ABS in India, although that crown has now been taken by the Japanese. While rivals like the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155 use liquid-cooled engines, TVS has opted for an air-cooled unit on the larger Ntorq – a likely contributor to its more aggressive pricing. The 149.7cc three-valve engine produces 13.2hp and 14.2Nm. Buyers can also opt for a higher-spec variant with a TFT display, which costs Rs 9,000 more.
1. Suzuki Access
Prices for the Suzuki Access start at Rs 92,328.
Most scooters on this list are above 125cc, a segment where ABS is government-mandated rather than optional. In contrast, the most affordable scooter here offers ABS voluntarily while still undercutting the next closest rival by around Rs 17,000. The Access is also India’s bestselling 125cc scooter, and ABS is available in its top two trims – Ride Connect ABS, priced at Rs 92,328, and Ride Connect TFT ABS at Rs 98,378, with the latter gaining a TFT display, as the name suggests.

Now, we know what you're thinking – calling these next two scooters "affordable" might be stretching the definition a bit. But, affordability is relative, after all. If you happen to have a significantly larger budget (and we mean significantly larger), these premium options also come with ABS:
BMW C 400 GT
Priced at Rs 10.83 lakh.
If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, the BMW C 400 GT is probably not the scooter for you. But its 350cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivers 34hp and 35Nm, offering performance on par with many motorcycles and more than twice as much as the scooters above. The C 400 GT features BMW’s ABS Pro system with DBC (Dynamic Brake Control), essentially the brand’s take on cornering ABS. As expected at this price point, it comes loaded with a premium kit, including a 6.5-inch TFT display, full-LED lighting, keyless ignition and ride-by-wire throttle. Buyers can further enhance it with options like heated grips and seats or even upgrade to a larger 10.25-inch TFT display.

Honda X-ADV
Priced at Rs 13.51 lakh.
The Honda X-ADV pushes the boundaries of what a scooter can be, blending adventure motorcycle capability with everyday scooter convenience. It has the largest capacity here and is the only parallel-twin scooter on sale in India, powered by a 745cc engine that produces 58.6hp and 69Nm – serious performance for a scooter. Beyond its ABS system, the X-ADV comes equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), multiple riding modes and a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) similar to the system seen on the Africa Twin.
