Hero Xtreme 125R variant breakdown

IBS.

The base variant of the Xtreme 125R is actually the only one to not have ABS; instead, it comes with a more basic combi-braking system. In nearly every other respect, from styling to features as well as underpinnings, it is similar to the two single-channel ABS variants above it. The 124.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine making 11.4hp and 10.5Nm of torque stays constant throughout the range and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This IBS variant comes in three colours – red, blue and black – and at Rs 89,000 is the most affordable in the line-up.

ABS and ABS single-seat.

These two variants of the Xtreme 125R are identical in every aspect, except for the seating arrangement, which is why we have clubbed them together. They both come with single-channel ABS and get an extra orange colour option to choose from in addition to the three colours offered on the base model. At Rs 92,500, these variants are just Rs 3,500 more expensive than the base and represent good value for the safety they bring in.

As the name suggests, the single-seat variant comes with a traditional single-piece seat, which should be slightly more comfortable for two-up riding than the split seat setup available on other variants.

Dual-channel ABS

The range-topping variant of the Xtreme 125R is the only one to come with dual-channel ABS, three riding modes, cruise control and a larger colour LCD display as well as different switchgear to control these extra functions. It also comes in three different colours – green, grey and red. At Rs 1.05 lakh, this dual-channel ABS variant costs Rs 12,000 more than the variants with single-channel ABS and is one of the more expensive 125cc bikes in India.
