Royal Enfield has launched the Flying Flea C6 as its first electric motorcycle, marking the brand's entry into the EV space. Here are answers to some of the spec-related questions you might have about the bike.

What is the price of the Flying Flea C6?

The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). However, customers also have the option of buying the C6 via Battery as a Service (BaaS), which brings its asking price down to Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). For now, the Flying Flea C6 will be available in Bengaluru only. Flying Flea will be following a phase-wise measured rollout approach which will see it first focus on major metro cities.

What is the Flying Flea C6 range?

The Flying Flea C6 comes with a 3.91kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a claimed IDC range of 154km. Royal Enfield claims a 0-100 percent charging time of 2 hours and 16 minutes with its on-board charger. A 20-80 percent top-up takes just 1 hour 5 minutes. The customer also has the option of deciding at what speed the C6 charges when they plug it in via the mobile app, among a plethora of other functions.

What is the Flying Flea C6 top speed?

Royal Enfield claims a 0-60kph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 115kph. The Flying Flea C6 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of producing a peak power of 15.4kW and peak torque of 60Nm, sending power to the rear wheel via a belt drive.

What is the seat height and weight of the Flying Flea C6?

Royal Enfield consciously chose to make the Flying Flea C6 as light and skinny as possible because the lower rolling resistance and lighter weight would translate to a longer range between charges. The entire package weighs just 124kg, making it the lightest Royal Enfield yet. Seat height stands at 823mm but given the C6's slim nature, flat footing for most people should be a non-issue. Ground clearance is 207mm, which is in capable adventure bike territory.

What features does the Flying Flea C6 have?

The Flying Flea C6 features a circular 3.5-inch colour TFT display with brand-new dedicated switchgear that displays all the information to the rider. The suite of riding aids includes adjustable regenerative braking, 5 riding modes – City, Rain, Highway, Sport and Custom – as well as lean-sensitive traction control and dual-channel ABS, which can be switched off at the rear. The C6 stays true to its concept design with a girder fork, which is quite unique in today's times. The rear setup remains conventional, with a monoshock and a suspension travel of 100/110mm (F/R). The bike runs on 19-inch wheels shod with slim 90-section tubeless tyres at both ends.
