Kia has launched the second-generation Seltos, which gets a new exterior design, an updated interior and some new features. The new Seltos competes in the popular midsize SUV segment, which includes the Maruti Suzuki Victoris that was launched in September 2025. In this article, we compare the top-spec Seltos GTX (A) and X-Line (A) with the Victoris’s ZXi+ (O) trim to see which model offers more features.

The Seltos gets slightly bigger 18-inch alloys than the Victoris’s 17-inch ones and also gets a memory function for its outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). Moreover, it comes with flush-type door handles compared to the Victoris’s conventional pull-type door handles.

While both SUVs come with a packed feature list, there are a few differences in certain areas. The Victoris goes one up with a gesture-powered tailgate, while the Seltos comes with dual-zone climate control, lumbar support, memory and welcome functions for the driver’s seat, as well as an additional display for HVAC controls. However, the Seltos has bigger screens for infotainment and the driver’s display.

Both SUVs feature drive and terrain modes, but the Maruti Victoris comes with AWD as an option with the naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with an automatic gearbox; the Seltos features an FWD setup only.

When it comes to safety, both the Seltos and Victoris feature a wide range of features, including six airbags, a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 ADAS suite.

The Victoris ZXI+ (O) is available with a manual option with the naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes it the more affordable top-end trim in this comparison. While the Seltos is offered with only front-wheel-drive (FWD), the Victoris automatic is available in both FWD and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setups.
The Victoris with FWD is Rs 1.57 lakh more affordable than the Seltos, and even its AWD variant costs Rs 12,000 less. On the other hand, the Seltos offers a turbo-petrol engine, which is not available with the Victoris.
For customers looking for a more fuel-efficient option, the Seltos has a diesel option, while the Victoris gets a strong-hybrid powertrain. Both these choices come at a similar price of Rs 19.99 lakh.
New Kia Seltos vs Maruti Victoris: Verdict
While both midsize SUVs are feature-loaded, the new Seltos slightly nudges ahead with bigger screens, dual-zone climate control and memory function for the driver’s seat as well as for the ORVMs. On the other hand, the Victoris features a gesture-enabled powered tailgate, while the Kia lacks it.
The Seltos’s naturally aspirated powertrain costs more than that of the Victoris, but the Victoris petrol automatic offers an AWD setup at a slightly lower price than the Seltos AT with an FWD configuration. That said, the Victoris puts out 12hp less than the Seltos with such an engine, making it feel a bit underpowered.
So, if price is a constraint, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the better option with a good feature suite. However, for fuel efficiency, between the Victoris’s strong-hybrid powertrain and the Seltos diesel, we would recommend the latter, as it comes with a lot more features compared to the Maruti offering. And if you prefer outright acceleration over fuel efficiency, you can choose the Seltos with the turbo-petrol engine.
