The VF6 is certainly the more performance-oriented offering here, as despite a slightly smaller battery pack than the e Vitara, Vinfast has opted to squeeze out an extra 30hp and 117Nm from the front-mounted electric motor.
While the higher output does make for better performance – we clocked a 0-100kph time of 8.09 seconds in our testing, while the e Vitara manages the same in 9.25 seconds – the VF6’s claimed range is a significant 80km lower than the e Vitara’s.

For AC charging, the e Vitara offers support for a slightly higher wattage than the VF6. Vinfast has yet to quote an AC fast charging time for the VF6, but given its smaller battery capacity, it’ll likely be slightly quicker than that of the e Vitara.
However, the script flips when we get to DC charging. As the VF6 supports up to 30kW higher wattages and has a smaller battery, it beats the e Vitara’s DC charging speeds by a fair margin.

Both SUVs are nearly matched on this front, but they do trade punches on certain features. The e Vitara comes with LED fog lamps, an important feature that the VF6 lacks. On the other hand, the VF6 is among the few cars at this price point to offer heated outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), which can come in very handy during the winter.

Inside, the e Vitara and VF6 trade punches in a lot of areas too. The VF6 has a much larger touchscreen, but the catch here is that there’s no instrument cluster in its cabin, unlike that of the e Vitara. Instead, VF6 owners can use either the infotainment system or head-up display (e Vitara doesn’t have one) for instrumentation.
The e Vitara gets two additional speakers and a greater range of electrical adjustment for the driver’s seat, whereas the VF6 has a larger panoramic glass roof, and its climate control offers an extra front passenger zone. However, the VF6 does miss out on reclining rear seats, which could be a big deal for some.

As for pricing, the fully specced e Vitara Alpha costs Rs 60,000 more than the VF6 Wind Infinity. However, the e Vitara is available with a battery rental programme, which knocks the Alpha variant’s upfront price down to Rs 14.29 lakh with a battery usage fee of Rs 4.39 per kilometre. So for buyers willing to opt for Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), the e Vitara Alpha is the no-brainer choice, as it is Rs 4.9 lakh more affordable up front than the VF6 Wind Infinity. But if BaaS is off the table, the VF6 is the better option for those seeking more performance and sportier styling, while the e Vitara makes sense for someone willing to pay more for a longer range, relaxed driving manners and Maruti Suzuki’s far more extensive retail and service footprint.
