Fresh from a facelift, the Renault Triber continues to be the most affordable MPV on sale in India. It’s a really unique package, measuring just under 4 metres in length, so it can take advantage of the lower tax slab while still offering the flexibility of three rows of seating. It’s a car like no other, at least until its Nissan cousin arrives next year. Here, we are answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the Renault Triber.

What is the Renault Triber price in India?

The Renault Triber price (ex-showroom, India) starts from Rs 6.30 lakh for the base Authentic trim, and it goes up to Rs 9.17 lakh for the top-spec Emotion AMT variant. Optional dual-tone colours can be had with the top Emotion trim for an additional Rs 23,000; alloy wheels are also an optional extra for Rs 9,990. On-road prices for the Renault Triber roughly range between Rs 7.18 lakh and Rs 10.38 lakh, depending on the city.

What engine options are available with the Renault Triber?

The 2025 Triber continues to be offered with Renault’s 1-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with modest outputs of 72hp and 96Nm. It is the only mill available on the Triber. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Does Renault offer a CNG kit with the Triber?

Yes, the Triber is available with a CNG kit, but it doesn’t come as a factory-fitted option. Instead, it is retrofitted at a dealership level. Renault, however, does provide a 3-year warranty on the CNG kit, and it has also homologated these kits to meet all safety and performance standards. Notably, it is only available with the manual variants, and while the brand does not quote a specific fuel efficiency figure, it says the Triber CNG improves efficiency by 1.5 times over the petrol variants. Depending on the trim, prices for the CNG kit range between Rs 69,000 and Rs 93,000.

What is the Renault Triber fuel efficiency like?

The Renault Triber has an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 20kpl for the manual variant and 18.2kpl for the AMT variant. However, these figures may vary depending on the driving style and real-world conditions.

Will the Renault Triber get a turbo-petrol engine option?

Soon after the Triber’s launch in 2019, Renault had considered introducing the 100hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit from the Kiger. However, that never materialised with the pre-facelift, and even on the updated Triber, there are no plans to offer a turbo-petrol engine option.

What are the seating options available with the Renault Triber?

The Renault Triber comes with a 7-seat configuration as standard. What makes the Triber really unique in nature is that the third row is modular, which means you can completely remove the third row to make way for a larger boot area. The third row also gets split/fold functionality, which really allows you to play around with the configuration to suit your needs.

Is the Renault Triber well equipped?

The Triber is decently well-equipped for a vehicle of its price and size. Features like projector headlamps, six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, traction control and a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are offered right from the base variant. The second-from-base trim adds an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with four speakers and a rear camera. The top-spec Triber interior has features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, push-button start/stop, cooled centre console storage and second-row charging ports. It also gets 15-inch flexi alloy wheels, cruise control, LED daytime running lamps, auto wipers and segment-only front parking sensors.

Is the Renault Triber good for long drives?

The Triber isn’t the most ideal vehicle for long drives. It is best suited for the city and keeps up with traffic just fine, but overtaking on highways will need some prior planning. Power delivery is flat and, at times, you have to work the engine to get the most out of it. With a full load of passengers and on long inclines, you have to be conscious of being in the right gear for the speed. It’s not an effortless cruiser, and that mid-range pep is always missed.

What colour options are available with the Triber?

While there are a total of six monotone colours to choose from, dual-tone ones (white, grey or orange with a black roof) are only available with the range-topping Triber Emotion variant and cost Rs 23,000 more. However, the entry-level Triber Authentic only comes in three colours – Ice Cool White, Stealth Black and Moonlight Silver. Along with the aforementioned three colours, the mid-spec Triber Evolution variant is also available in Shadow Grey and Zenskar Blue, while the higher-spec Techno gets the option of an Amber Terracotta finish, too.
