I have been waiting for the five-door Mahindra Thar but have recently taken a liking to the new 2022 Scorpio. However, with fuel prices skyrocketing, could you please suggest an EV SUV similar to the Thar or Scorpio? Also please let me know which one to go in for between the 5-door Thar petrol and an EV SUV.

The five-door Mahindra Thar is still some time away and won’t come until 2023. The Scorpio promises to be a good bet and is due in June 2022. The diesel engine will be relatively economical, but it can’t come close to matching the low running cost of an EV. The MG ZS EV is your best option, however, it cannot be compared to the Thar or any other internal combustion engine-powered SUV. It offers good performance, a superb interior and decent range, which is great for the city, but remember that going out of town could be a challenge because of the charging network.
