For an SUV in this price range, a well-equipped cabin and a refined driving experience is what should be on top of your priority list.

I am looking to buy a new SUV under Rs 30 lakh and have shortlisted the Hyundai Tucson. It does have features like Level 2 ADAS, but I’m still not sure if it justifies the price. I had a Kia Seltos before this and have also considered the Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV700. My main requirements – in the order of importance – are efficiency, comfort and features. Kindly help me decide.

Autocar India says: The Tucson is on the pricey side, but your money does go far because you get a lot of features, including ADAS, which not many SUVs offer. The XUV700 is fantastic for the money and offers ADAS in a car that costs substantially less. The Jeep Compass falls short in comparison as it is small on the inside and not as well equipped. However, it is a great off-roader and thrives on bad roads. If money is no object we suggest you go for the Tucson, and although it doesn’t offer the same value as the XUV700, it feels a notch above offering a sophisticated, refined and plush experience. It is quite efficient too.
