The new Goa Street Race made its much-awaited debut, hosting Round 4 of the Indian Racing League. It ended up being a strong home race for Goa Aces JA Racing, with the John Abraham-owned team winning two out of the three races to take the overall lead in the standings.
The race was originally supposed to be held on an oceanfront track at Vasco back in November 2025. However, following local protests, the track was moved to near the Manohar International Airport. Round 4 hosted just the Indian Racing League, since the F4 India championship already wrapped up last year. But there was a twist – rather than the league’s usual Wolf GB08 Thunder cars, the Goa race featured the F4-spec Ligier JS F422 F4 single seaters, powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged Alpine engine.

Goa Aces JA Racing takes Indian Racing League lead
Raoul Hyman, Fabienne Wohlwend, Alister Yoong win races at Goa Street Circuit.
Chennai Turbo Riders’ Aqil Alibhai secured pole position for the very first race at the Goa Street Circuit. However, Goa Aces JA Racing’s Raoul Hyman seized the lead early on. A mid-race red flag erased his lead, but he defended his lead at the re-start and went on to take victory, 3.310sec ahead of Alibhai. A second red flag ended the race early and helped Speed Demons Delhi’s Ishaan.

In Race 2, Speed Demons Delhi’s Alister Yoong capitalised on early chaos to take victory. Behind him, Kolkata Royal Tigers sliced through the field to move up to second place. Shah closed in on Yoong rapidly in the closing stages, but a late Safety Car neutralised the race and locked the order. Polesitter Gabriela Jilkova from Hyderabad Black Birds ended up P10 after running wide early in the race.
The final race followed a relay format with a mandatory driver swap. Polesitters Tom Canning and Sohil Shah of Kolkata Royal Tigers retired early on after a wheel issue. Hyman then inherited the lead and stretched his advantage to over 20 seconds before Fabienne Wohlwend jumped in the car.
Wohlwend’s stint quickly turned into a pressure test when a Safety Car erased the hefty lead Hyman had built. Nevertheless, she aced the re-start and defended her lead till the chequered flag. This makes her only the second female racer to win an Indian Racing League race in the series’ history.
“There was a lot of pressure, especially after Raoul’s strong start and the gap he built. When the safety car came out, my focus was on staying calm and not cracking under pressure. I managed a strong restart, created a gap and from there it was about keeping things clean and bringing the car home safely,” Wohlwend said after the race.
Indian Racing League standings
Speed Demons Delhi held the advantage heading into Round 4. However, Goa Aces JA Racing have now claimed the overall lead after scoring two race wins at Goa. But Speed Demons Delhi is just one point behind.
The Indian Racing League will now head to Navi Mumbai for its season finale. This will be another street race and is expected to be held in March 2026.
