Suzuki Motorcycle India will kick-off the Gixxer Cup on July 5, 2018, at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The selection process will be held beforehand at the same circuit, on July 2.

The selections are open for two classes – the Suzuki Gixxer Cup (for ages 17-24) and the Road to Rookies Cup (for ages 12-16). 22 riders will be selected for the former, while 12 entries will be chosen for the latter.

The selected riders will be given training on track, as well as in the classroom. After this, the riders will need to apply for their FMSCI 2W Racing License, which will allow them to compete in the championships.

There will be a total of four rounds, this season, with the first three being held at KMS and the final round at BIC, Noida. The participants will ride race-spec versions of the Suzuki Gixxer SF motorcycle.

The Gixxer Cup was first held in 2015, and has since turned into a great platform for aspiring racers in the country, providing a pathway to the MotoGP paddock.
