OLX Autocar India Pre-owned Car Awards.

The second edition of the Pre-Owned Car Awards, hosted by OLX Autos in partnership with Autocar India, will be announced in December 2022. The awards – the inaugural edition of which was held in January this year – are a reflection of the growing popularity of a segment that is expected to touch 7 million in sales by 2026.

Key growth drivers have included a marked preference for personal mobility in the wake of COVID-19, long waiting period for new cars – a consequence of the chips crunch – and rising new car prices. The idea behind the awards is to provide consumers with relevant information and expert recommendations that will help them take well-informed decisions when it comes to used car purchases in India.

OLX Pre-owned Car Awards 2023: categories

The Pre-Owned Car Awards 2023 will have 12 award categories. The segments under consideration include small, midsize and large hatchbacks; compact and mid-size sedans; and compact, midsize, and premium SUVs. The jurors will also pick the best pre-owned MPV as well as the best pre-owned luxury vehicle, the contenders for which will be drawn from across categories in a manner similar to the main award – the best pre-owned vehicle.

Further, there is also a Viewer’s Choice Award for the best pre-owned brand. Viewers can cast their votes for the brand they trust most when it comes to buying pre-owned on Autocar India’s digital and social media platforms. You can do so at the link below. So make sure you vote for your favourite brand and have your say in the OLX pre-owned car awards.

OLX Pre-owned Car Awards 2023: jury

The jury for the Pre-Owned Car Awards includes well-known and respected names from the auto industry. These include Amit Kumar, CEO, OLX Autos India, Ravi Bhatia, president and director of JATO Dynamics India, Hemal N Thakkar, director, CRISIL Limited, Avik Chattopadhyay, co-founder and partner of brand strategy firm Expereal, Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor, Autocar India, Renuka Kirpalani, Executive Editor, Video, Autocar India, and Sergius Barretto, Managing Editor, Autocar India. The jury round for the awards was held recently and the ceremony will stream online shortly.

Speaking at the jury round, Amit Kumar, CEO, OLX Group India, said, “The pre-owned car market has been growing steadily, and similar to the new car market, it has made a strong recovery post the pandemic. Consumers, including first-time buyers, are increasingly considering buying a pre-owned car as the quality, availability and experience become easy and transparent, besides providing value for money.”

“Judging a pre-owned car is far more difficult than judging a new car. Factors such as reliability, resale value, dealer network come into play here. I was thrilled to be part of a very esteemed jury. The insights gained from OLX’s data that shows trends in the used car market proved invaluable in helping us choose the winners,” said Hormazd Sorabjee, editor, Autocar India.
