Several features from the 2026 Kushaq have been added to the Slavia, including rear-seat massage and sequential turn indicators. It also gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch driver’s display. A 360-degree camera setup has replaced trhe rear parking camera. Like the Kushaq, the Slavia also gets a variable-displacement compressor instead of the older fixed-displacement unit for better AC performance.

The Slavia 1.0 TSI with the 8-speed automatic gearbox costs Rs 1 lakh more than the manual version on the Signature, Sportline and Prestige trims. The price difference goes up by Rs 1.5 lakh for the Classic+ trim. The base Classic is only available with the manual, while the top-spec Monte Carlo is available only with automatic gearbox options.

The new 8-speed automatic gearbox becomes available with the Classic+ trim onwards, which costs about Rs 2.50 lakh more than the base Classic trim with the 6-speed manual gearbox. Upgrading to this variant not only gets you the convenience of an automatic transmission but also the additional set of features that the Classic+ comes with.

For most buyers, the 1.0 TSI with the new 8-speed automatic is the sensible pick as it's the most affordable way to get an automatic Skoda Slavia. The 1.5 TSI is the stronger and smoother engine option, but it only comes with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG). However, the Hyundai Verna with its stronger turbo-petrol engine option can also be had with a manual gearbox.

Despite the recent update, the Skoda Slavia misses out on ADAS, which both the Hyundai Verna and Honda City offer. It also misses out on an electronic parking brake, which is available on top-spec Honda City. Furthermore, while the Hyundai Verna can be had with 7 airbags, the updated Skoda Slavia offers just the 6.

Yes, the Slavia continues to be a fun car to drive. Body roll is well controlled despite the 179mm of ground clearance, and the steering gains weight as speeds rise. The Hyundai Verna turbo makes more power (160hp against the Slavia 1.5 TSI's 150hp), but its steering lacks feedback and its soft suspension doesn't encourage one to push the car hard around bends as effortlessly as with the Slavia.
