Mercedes-Benz E-Class FAQs

The rear seats on the Mercedes E-Class are quite comfortable and roomy. The seats are comfy, supportive, and recline quite a bit. Boss mode sends the front passenger to move forward for enhanced legroom. 
 

The ride setup of the E-Class is plush overall. While there's a fair bit of movement at low speeds, high-speed stability, though, is composed. 
 

The ground clearance of the E Class is adequate for our roads, and it clears most speed breakers without scraping its underside. However, one will still have to watch out for poorly built bumps due to its long wheelbase.
 

With a long wheelbase and a luxurious back seat, the E-Class caters more towards chauffeur-driven customers. However, if you’re looking for a driver’s E-Class, the 381hp E450 is worth consideration.
 

The E-Class slots right in between the C-Class and S-Class and rightfully so, as it offers great levels of luxury while not being as expensive as the S-Class, but at the same time offering a sporty (E450) experience as well.

Comparing equivalent petrol variants, the E-Class is around Rs 5 lakh more expensive than the 5 Series.

Comparing the 4-cylinder engine options, the E-Class diesel is Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the petrol variant.

While the E-Class diesel is more expensive up front, it delivers much better fuel efficiency and feels punchier to drive than the base E 200 petrol variant. There's also a more powerful 6-cylinder E 450 petrol variant, but it's over Rs 10 lakh pricier than the diesel variant.

The key difference is that the E450 gets a 381hp 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, while the E200 is powered by a 204hp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol mill. The E450 also comes with a sportier AMG Line bodykit.
