The Range Rover Velar SUV fits between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.

Range Rover offers air suspension only with the Velar Autobiography. It can lower the SUV by 10mm to make getting in and out easier and can also raise the ride height by 25mm over the standard setting for off-road use.

The Dynamic SE misses out on features like configurable ambient lighting, Meridian 3D surround sound system, heated and cooled front seats, pixel LED headlights with signature DRL and sliding panoramic sunroof.

The centre console that extends back make the rear seats better suited for two, as highlighted in our Velar review. These can be split-folded (40:20:40) to increase boot space.

During our review of the Range Rover Velar Autobiography, which gets air suspension as standard, we noticed that while the ride quality is very comfortable, it will thud through the larger potholes. So, don't expect the plushness of the bigger Range Rovers that make the road surface feel like glass.

You can expect both 200+hp petrol and diesel engines to return anywhere between single digits to the low teens in the real world, depending on the driving style and usage pattern.
