Volvo India price hike in May 2026 explained
Maximum increase of Rs 1 lakh
In India, Volvo currently sells four models, namely the EX30, EC40, XC60, and XC90. The Swedish carmaker stated that prices across its portfolio will increase by up to Rs 1 lakh starting May 1, though exact model-wise hikes remain unconfirmed. Here's the current price list for all Volvo cars in India:
Volvo attributes the incoming price hike to "persistent global supply chain disruptions" and "foreign exchange fluctuations." Indeed, the ongoing conflict in West Asia has bottlenecked tanker movement via the Strait of Hormuz, which in turn has increased costs for raw materials crucial to vehicle production. Volvo's official statement even notes that, should the geopolitical and economic situation not improve, the carmaker may have to levy more price increases.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
