2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift.

The 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift will be launching on June 23. It is the second update for the sedan within a year’s time. It gets some cosmetic changes on the outside and in, and a bit more equipment.

While exterior changes on the previous update were restricted to new headlamps and alloys, this time, the changes include a new grille that makes it look a lot like the Passat, a new bumper and horizontal fog lamps with integrated cornering lights. At the rear, the bumper is slightly modified, as are the tail-lamps. Also, chrome touches have been added on the door handles and boot.

In the cabin, there’s a lighter colour scheme and some added equipment. Top trims come with features like cruise control, cooled glovebox, dead pedal and powered wing mirrors.

There isn’t any change on the engine front, and the Vento retains the 103bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol and the 103bhp 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and the seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox that was rolled out as a part of the Vento’s 2014 update.

Dealers are currently accepting bookings at Rs 50,000 – 75,000. Considering this is just another minor update to keep the Vento interesting, expect a marginal increase in prices, in the range of Rs 15,000 – 25,000 (across trim levels).
