Datsun has launched the facelifted Go hatchback at Rs 3.29 lakh and the Go+ MPV at Rs 3.83 lakh. Both cars have received a comprehensive update and now pack more by way of features and safety, in addition to updates to the interior and exteriors.

On the outside, the Go and Go+ facelifts sport a revised styling package. The cars get reprofiled headlamps and restyled front bumpers with integrated vertical daytime-running LEDs. The grille also gets subtle changes and keeps the models looking fresh. Higher-spec versions of the models get 14-inch alloy wheels, rear wash/wipe and rear parking sensors.

Inside, both cars get major updates. The dashboard has a revised layout with a new design for the central vents and the new touchscreen infotainment system. Also, the revised instrument cluster sees the addition of an analogue tachometer. Moreover, the new dash also gets proper lids for the glovebox, which was not offered on the outgoing model. The conjoined front seats have also been done away with for more conventional individual seats.

Equipment levels also get a major fillip with the fitment of a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that's loaded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Electric mirror adjust and rear power windows are also new to the package. Datsun has also enhanced the Go's safety package to comply with upcoming norms. A driver airbag (formerly an option) and ABS are standard, while a passenger side airbag offered on the top-spec trims.

The updated Go and Go+ continue to use the outgoing models’ 68hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An AMT gearbox may be offered in the future.

With the hike in price, the Go hatchback now faces fresh competition from the likes of the Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and the new Hyundai Santro.
