Skoda Fabia Scout

After the launch of Skoda's Rapid saloon and the 4x2 variant of the Yeti crossover, be ready to witness the wild side of the Czech manufacturer in the form of its RS 2000 concept.

Inspired by the IRC-winning Fabia Super 2000 rally car and the carmaker’s unrivalled rally heritage, the RS 2000 concept roadster has some unique styling bits like the tapering windscreen blending with the windows all the way back to the rear. However, what's interesting is that the RS 2000 has four doors and four seats, despite being a convertible.

Another special Skoda on display would be the Fabia Monte Carlo which is based on the Fabia hatchback and created to celebrate 100 years of the Monte Carlo Rally and 110 years of Skoda’s participation in motorsport. The special edition car features piano-black body trim, black roof, door mirrors and radiator grille, smoked headlights and black 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

Interior touches include either black or red and black sports seats and red-stitched leather steering wheel, handbrake and gearstick gaiter. The color range of the car was selected in consideration of the black color of the roof, which is the characteristic for the Monte Carlo version. The car will be available in seven colors: corrida red, brilliant silver, black magic, candy white, anthracite gray, sprint yellow, and cappuccino beige.

What surely will make it into production though is the Fabia Scout. In essence a Fabia with taller springs and higher ground clearance, the Scout makes perfect sense for India. The Scout will feature gravel and scratch-resistant cladding on the lower portion of the doors, wheel arches and rear bumper and a scuff plate at the rear to differentiate it from the Fabia. Although it doesn’t boast of any off-road hardware like a 4x4 system, the Scout could re-start the trend pioneered by the Fiat Adventure. Due to go on sale sometime mid-year, catch your first glimpse of it at the Expo.
