Land Rover has taken the wraps off the first stretched-wheelbase Range Rover in 22 years.

The long wheelbase Range Rover sees a 186mm increase in wheelbase and legroom at the rear. It gets Executive seats that can recline 17 degrees (the standard Range Rover can only recline up to 8 degrees). It also gets a front seat sliding function like on the Audi A8, powered side door blinds and a panoramic sunroof.

The stretched version will be available in Autobiography and Autobiography Black trim only. The Autobiography Black edition gets 10.2-inch screens at the rear, deployable tables and rear passengers also get seats with ‘calf rest’.

Billed as the first product of Jaguar Land Rover’s new Engineered To Order division, it gets subtle tweaks to the grille, badging and trim and has the option of seven-spoke 21-inch and 22-inch wheels.

Range Rover Long wheelbase deliveries will begin from March 2014, with Black deliveries commencing August 2014.
