Mercedes-Benz and Saffronart have teamed up to promote arts in India via the Saffron Autumn Online Auction of modern and contemporary Indian works, held online at www.saffronart.com.

An event commemorating the auction was held in Mumbai recently. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of a customised Mercedes-Benz S-class ‘Art Edition’, which will be sold at a price of Rs 1.14 crore. A limited number, two to be precise, of this special edition S-class will be sold to Saffronart clients.

The S-class Art Edition gets trims and fittings from Designo by the AMG Performance Studio. The unique features of the car include a lustrous Mocha Black paint job and hand-crafted white leather upholstery. Saffronart will be auctioning works by MF Husain, SH Raza, Arpita Singh and Jehangir Sabavala among others.

“Our wealth of innovation in the creation of automobiles has merged with the unique and imaginative world of art and culture,” said Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
