The Mercedes-Maybach EQS is also expected to arrive soon.

Along with announcements regarding its sales performance and expansion plans, Mercedes-Benz India has also revealed its launch plan for 2024. The German brand will have nine new car launches this year, which will include at least two new AMG models and see it double its EV portfolio.

  1. AMG S 63 e-Performance, C 63 e-Performance launch by June 2024
  2. New E-Class LWB launch by end of the year
  3. Mercedes to have six EVs by end 2024

Both these AMGs, first revealed in late 2022, are based on their respective latest-gen counterparts, and Mercedes claims their hybrid systems have technology that’s trickled down from Formula 1. The C 63 S e-Performance has a system output of 680hp and 1,020Nm of torque coming from a 476hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 204hp electric motor that's powered by a 6.1kWh battery.

Meanwhile, the S 63 e-Performance gets an updated version of the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine, and it also adopts a rear-axle-mounted asynchronous electric motor powered by a 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery; the combined output is a whopping 802hp and 1,430Nm of torque.

Both models also get all the requisite AMG specific design cues, aero changes, infotainment settings, a 9-speed automatic and the 4Matic+ AWD system.

Besides these two TEVs (cars above Rs 1.5 crore), Mercedes will be bringing two more models to that segment before June 2024.

All-new E-Class, EVs incoming

At the media conference, Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India also said that the launch of the all-new E-Class will take place this year. He added, "The new E-Class LWB will only arrive by the end of this year. So, there may be some time without an E-Class in our range."

The brand also plans to debut three new EVs during the year, one of which is expected to be the Maybach EQS.
