Mercedes-Benz has launched a new Celebration Edition of the EQS SUV, priced at Rs 1.34 crore for the 5-seater version and Rs 1.48 crore for the 7-seater version (both prices ex-showroom, India). The Celebration Edition essentially brings a sporty AMG Line trim for the base EQS 450 variant. The German luxury carmaker also claims that the EQS SUV was the highest-selling luxury EV in its top-end vehicle category.

  2. Both 450 and 580 variants get a 122kWh battery with up to 820km claimed range

Mercedes EQS SUV new updates

The new EQS SUV Celebration Edition brings the AMG Line treatment to the base 450 variant, adding sporty-looking front and rear bumpers and 21-inch AMG-spec alloy wheels. Until now, only the top-spec EQS 580 was offered in the AMG Line trim. The EQS SUV now also comes with a rear-seat ventilation function on both variants as standard. These updates on the EQS come at no additional cost.

The EQS SUV 450 continues with a 5-seater configuration and is powered by a 122kWh battery for an MIDC range of 820km. It uses a dual-motor setup for maximum outputs of 360hp and 800Nm. Meanwhile, the EQS SUV 580 comes with a 7-seater configuration. This also gets the 122kWh battery but has a slightly lesser MIDC range of 809km. Dual motors on the 580 produce higher outputs of 544hp and 858Nm.

As for features, the EQS SUV gets Mercedes’s Hyperscreen layout with a 56-inch screen spanning the dashboard, multi-colour ambient lights, a wireless charger, a head-up display, a 15-speaker Burmester audio system, a 360-degree camera, 4-zone automatic climate control, Level 2 ADAS, nine airbags, and more.
