    Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift: updated design

While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, Mercedes-Benz has added faux chrome elements on the grille to make it look similar to the S-Class. Moreover, the EQS also gets the ‘star’ hood ornament, which also echoes the design of the ICE flagship.

    Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift new features

When opted with the optional Extended Rear Luxury Lounge Pack, the EQS will now offer a special slanted footrest at the rear. To further improve comfort for rear occupants, the front passenger seat can be folded forward while the backrest in the rear can be adjusted up to 38 degrees. Mercedes also says that the rear seats get 5mm more foam in the backrest. The optional equipment also includes seat heating, neck and shoulder heating in the rear, as well as pneumatic adjustment of the seat depth.

Moreover, the MBUX Hyperscreen is now standard on the EQS, with other new additions including Dolby Atmos, a YouTube web app, and a digital travel guide.

The battery capacity of the EQS has increased from 108.4kWh to 118kWh, adding about 82km of range. For reference, the India-spec pre-facelift EQS has an ARAI certified range of 857km, and this could exceed the 900km mark with the bigger battery pack.

    Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift launch

The EQS facelift could be brought to India in the coming months as part of the nine new cars and SUVs the brand plans to launch here this year. As of now, the pre-facelift EQS is priced at Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom, India), but the arrival of the facelift would result in a slight price bump. It will continue to rival the BMW i7 and Porsche Taycan.
