Mercedes-AMG launches A45 S Aero Track Edition at Rs 87 lakh

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition has been launched in India at Rs 87 lakh (ex-showroom). Mercedes used to sell the A45 AMG in India at Rs 92.50 lakh before discontinuing it in 2023. The German auto major has now brought back the hot hatch to our market after nearly three years but in a special limited-edition avatar and at a price point that makes it Rs 5.5 lakh more affordable than its predecessor.

The direct-injection four-pot is shared with the standard A45 S

In charge of propelling the limited A45 S Aero Track Edition is the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine from the standard model. Featuring direct injection and turbocharging, this four-pot develops 421hp and 500Nm of torque, all of which are sent through an automatic transmission to all four wheels via the brand’s 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. With Launch Control enabled, the A45 S Aero Track Edition is capable of sprinting from a standstill to 100kph in a claimed 3.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the top whack of this Mercedes hot hatchback is pegged at 270kph.

Gets plenty of gloss-black exterior trim and the ‘AMG Aerodynamics Package’

The design of the A45 S Aero Track Edition is sportier than the standard A45 S, and it has a more aggressive stance as well. The AMG Aerodynamics Package of the Aero Track Edition brings in gloss-black elements that include the pronounced front splitter, aero vanes on the bumper, fixed AMG rear wing and rear diffuser. Opting for the AMG Night Package introduces gloss-black finish to the side skirts, outside rearview mirror (ORVM) housing, beltline & windowline, and for the AMG exhaust pipes. The A45 S Aero Track Edition also gets 19-inch forged alloys finished in matte-black, while the brake calipers are painted in red.
